Judge Heather Coyle
District Judge and Criminal Justice Reform Advocate
Heather Coyle is an Oklahoma County District Judge for District 7, office 8. Prior to beginning her first term as district judge for Oklahoma’s 7th Judicial District in January, Coyle worked more than 20 years as an assistant district attorney for Oklahoma County, dealing with issues ranging from drug crimes and homicides to domestic violence programs and diversion programs that help address alternatives to incarceration. Her respect and appreciation for the individuals who come before her and their circumstances prompted Coyle to become heavily involved with diversion programs to address areas such as drug abuse, mental health, domestic violence and others that look to support the community. While the first 10 years of her career were spent primarily on prosecution, the last 10 years in the district attorney’s office were preoccupied with these diversion programs and criminal justice reform.
